What is Important and What Isn’t?

When one door closes another door opens. This is a metaphor that we often hear when things don't go as planned. And there truly are so many opportunities when we reach those crossroads. Sometimes the path we choose leads us down a road that we were not prepared for at...

What’s Coming Up!

What’s Coming Up!

I am finally seeing progress. I've been MIA. Not having everything at your fingertips is certainly a challenge. For the last few weeks, while working in my office, I've been dodging bins and boxes. Most of my office stuff was put on the porch. My husband commented...

Welcome to Friday Feeling March 25, 2022!

Next Friday is APRIL FOOL’S DAY!

It is now known for a day of “pranks”. This is not something that I enjoyed and participated in, because it’s a day that I celebrate as my own. It’s my birthday!!!

I decided to look up the history of this day because today also marks the New Moon in Aries.

It is said that when France switched from the Julian calendar to the Gregorian calendar in 1582 is when it began. In the Julian Calendar, as in the Hindu calendar, the new year began with the spring equinox around April 1.

They would celebrate from the last week of March through to April 1. Back then news was not as quick as it is now with the internet, so people who were slow to get the news or failed to recognize that the start of the new year had moved to January 1 became the butt of jokes and hoaxes and were called “April fools.” These pranks included having paper fish placed on their backs and being referred to as “poisson d’avril” (April fish), said to symbolize a young, easily caught fish and a gullible person.

For us Northerners, the Vernal Equinox history seems to tie in really well as there is speculation that April Fools’ Day was tied to the vernal equinox or the first day of spring in the Northern Hemisphere. This is when Mother Nature fooled people with changing, unpredictable weather.

Look at this week in our region. Last week people were walking around in sweaters and the snow was fiercely melting. And this week has brought us cold and we woke up to a blanket of snow yesterday.

Nowadays April Fool’s Pranks have been used in the Media to announce elaborate outrageous fictional claims April Fool’s Hoaxes to fool their audience.

If you are one who celebrates being a prankster on this day, remember NOT TO fake pregnancy announcements. There are so many who wish they could be parents and can’t. It’s devastating.

Me, on the other hand, I was a “prank” that fooled them all back in 1970. My dad and my grandmother (my mom’s mom) would play tricks on each other all the time. Once my grandmother yelled for my dad to come get the phone, they were in the field planting which was quite far from the house. My dad came running and it wasn’t until he got close enough to see my grandmother laughing that he realized they didn’t have a phone. My grandparents lived out in the country where there wasn’t yet phone access, while my dad came from town, where there was.

He was the one to inform my grandmother that I was born. He needed to tell her again the next day because she refused to believe him.

This year, the New Moon falls ON MY BIRTHDAY. This is the New Moon in Aries. For the last few years, I’ve been celebrating the New Moon in Aries as the New Year. My New Year. This is the Zodiac New Year. This is when Grandmother Moon’s Cycles begin, much like my Solar Return (the day of my birth). Although I will set intentions for the Calendar New Year, January 1, this is when I really set the intentions and get my New Year started.

This year, I decided that I would invite others on my birthday and join me on this year’s journey of working with Grandmother Moon. Moon Medicine Teachings is being reborn on my 52nd birthday in 2022.

Starting Wednesday, March 30, we will be gathering for Wisdom Wednesday both in person and on Zoom. I decided that I will allow for drop-ins. Drop-ins will NOT have access to the replays or the private group.

Anyone who is a current member of Insider Moon Energy by April 1, will have access to this program to deepen their experience with Grandmother Moon.

You can learn more about the program at https://rollieallaire.ca/moon-medicine-teachings

Why am I focussing so much on this, particularly this year? Well, even though numerology is not something I know or understand fully, I do know that this year is the year of 2s. We are surrounded by two’s every year.

I spent my 50th birthday alone (only my husband and mother-in-law were allowed to be around), isolated, and on lockdown. That’s supposed to be a milestone year to celebrate, but it wasn’t. This year, I will be celebrating with my closest Circle of people at my favourite restaurant.

There are a few numbers that follow me this year that I looked up.

In our last Angel Message group, we discovered that the number 2 offers the gift of Polarity. It shows us that opposites attract, different but not divided. It is the dance of magnetism that energizes the universe.

The number 2 in numerology represents harmony, relationships, and partnerships. This really fits with my decision to open this up to a group venture.

My life path number is 8. The number 8 offers the gift of Mastery. It reveals the infinite in a seemingly finite world. By bringing our spiritual perspective down to Earth, we can act with true power and certainty.

I love how synchronicity comes into play in life because I looked into the meaning of the numbers after I had decided that I would invite others on my journey with me in 2022. On the last Friday before I will share about the upcoming New Moon. In this case, I will share next Friday, April 1 given today is the last Friday before the New Moon.
