Talk Back Thursday is a Livestream chat and Podcast about a particular topic. The topics are randomly chosen, usually based on a request or a theme that has been coming up. It is set up so that people can come and join in the discussion Live. There were a few times last year that we randomly had that happen. It was great to simply have these random conversations.

Full Moon

In today’s Podcast Episode, I want to talk about the importance of releasing control, going with the flow, and still taking action in our lives.

Many of us have experienced times when we feel the need to control every aspect of our lives. We try to ensure that everything goes according to plan, but sometimes life has other ideas. As we discussed last week, going with the flow is an essential skill to develop, but it doesn’t mean we should stop taking action altogether.

A key aspect of going with the flow is releasing control. We need to understand that we can’t control everything, especially other people’s actions and reactions. However, we can control our own responses and actions, which is crucial to our well-being.

But how can we strike a balance between releasing control and taking action? The answer is that it’s not an either-or situation; it’s both. We need to let go of our attachment to specific outcomes and allow things to unfold naturally while still taking the necessary steps to move forward.

A perfect example of this balance comes from my recent experience with the Women’s Conference and my grandson’s birth, then I got sick. I fell behind and my schedule was hectic, but instead of trying to control everything and stressing myself out, I chose to adjust my work schedule and take some time to slow down. However, I still remained committed to my work and continued to make progress, even if it wasn’t at the breakneck speed I was initially aiming for.

So, what’s the takeaway here? We need to find that balance between releasing control and taking action in our lives. We should focus on what we can control, let go of what we can’t, and continue to take action to achieve our goals.

Remember, it’s essential to go with the flow and release control of the outcomes and expectations we set for ourselves. But we also need to take action, as nothing will happen if we merely sit and let life pass us by. We don’t have to do everything at once, and we can take our time to accomplish our goals.

That’s all for this week’s Talkback Thursday. I hope you found this discussion helpful and inspiring. Join us next week for another insightful conversation. Until then, take care, and remember to find balance in your life.

Every week, we enjoy the company and wisdom of a FEATURED GUEST.

I strongly believe that each person has the ability to heal themselves and that my job is to bridge the gap between the client and the methods that best suit their process.
