New Moon in Aries – April 1, 2022

Once a month on the Friday before the New Moon, I will be sharing about that particular New Moon. In this case, it is THIS Friday since I shared last week that I would be starting this.

If you are like me, you may want to put the dates in your calendar for the next 11 New Moons.

Why does any of this matter? Who really cares when the Moon is which Astrological signs or the teachings behind the Full Moons?

Some may not believe that any of this has any relevance. But historically, it is how lives were lived. The energy around the sun, moon, and stars is what guided humans. Now, we live by a calendar with our technology.

Even for those who follow the Bible, the North Star is what guided the Three Wise Men to the stable where Jesus was born. And I make reference to this because having been raised Catholic, I was taught that following any of these traditional ways meant I was going against God. Yet, it was there in black and white print.

I do not believe this to be evil, but a way to deeper understand who I am from a Soul Level. We are here on this Earth to experience our Life’s Journey. They say that we are here on Earth until we’ve experienced everything we are meant to experience on our Life’s Purpose. My grandmother used to say when someone died, that they’ve completed all their life’s lessons and it was time to move on.

Why am I starting this journey with you today and not on January 1? Because today is the first New Moon of the Zodiac sign. We are in the New Moon in Aries. And it doubles up great for me, in particular, this year because it also falls on my birthday. It is often referred to as a Solar Return.

As part of my heritage, I follow aboriginal teachings (in Canada the name has changed many times in my lifetime), Moon Medicine Teachings with Grandmother Moon. I’ll share more about this next month, because I really want to talk about what it means for you to have the New Moon in Aries

Aries is a fire element moon. Fire moons are very active. These are great times to get something started. Being physically active during this time is important. Tapping into ideas seems to come more naturally. Great time for generating excitement.

With it being Spring in the Northern Hemisphere, this would be a great time to start getting out and being more active. It’s been a long winter.

One thing with following Moon Medicine Teachings, I think it’s prudent to mention that regardless of what energy is influencing us, does not negate our responsibilities.

For example, Aries is ruled by the angry war planet Mars and it’s not unusual for emotions to run high during this Aries Moon. If you find yourself in the middle of an argument, take a few deep breaths, reminding yourself that this is not an excuse to “lose your shit”.

Use this Aries energy to GET THINGS DONE. Aries energy is a quite impulsive energy. It’s easy to feel quite driven. Use this energy to create an enthusiastic flow of something constructive. Try not to take offense, it’s easy to do.

Set up times for meditation to bring a Zen energy this month. This is one of the things we do on Wisdom Wednesdays. You can drop in for a session if you don’t want to sign up specifically for the whole Moon Medicine Teachings.

A fire moon is also a great time to reorganize, declutter, and get things in order. In this case, it fits right into Spring.

What action are you going to take this Fiery Aries New Moon?
