Rules For The Challenge

The cost is $60 to participate. $20 will cover administration of the challenge, $20 will be pooled for prizes and the remaining $20 will be used as a deposit for fines. The remaining $20 will be held as a deposit towards any fines owing (maximum $24). The difference will be returned to you at the end of the challenge.

In this together! 

Transformation Metric – this is how we measure success and how your weight loss results are monitored through the challenge. Essentially we take your weight + your measurements to get a total number. Yes, it’s a big number – it’s a big number for everyone. This is how we measure Quality Loss. It’s not just about the scale number!

Every week you’ll re-weigh and every 4 weeks we will take new measurements. These percentages are placed in the spreadsheet for you to track.

You will also need to complete a Weekly Action Plan that will have you focussing on different behaviours to increase your success. As we all have different lifestyles, we will all have different Action Plans, but success is what we are looking to achieve.

And the FINAL part of the Challenge is to participate in physical activity (of your choice) for a minimum of 20 minutes.

ALL entrance fees and fines (less the administration fee) are pooled to distribute back to the winners as follows:

1st Place – 50% of pool
2nd Place – 30% of pool
3rd Place – 20% of pool

IN-PERSON OR VIRTUAL

Those who are local and want to weigh-in in person are between 5:35-6:25 on Monday at Bridging the Gap Wellness Center, 498 Ferguson Ave, Haileybury, Ontario P0J 1K0. You must also submit your tracking form at the same time.

Those who are virtually weighing in must do so at the same time every week. An image of the scale must be attached to the tracking form each week.

A fine of $ 2 will be applied against your deposit for; 1) weight/measurement gain, 2) not completing your minimum requirements of physical activity, 3) not completing your Action Plan, and 4) missing a weigh-in. No fine will be applied for maintaining the same weight/measurement as your previous weigh-in or for completing your Action Plan even if you didn’t 100% achieve your plan.

We can do anything!

70% of your weight-loss success is directly related to what you eat. Each participant is encouraged to join MyFitnessPal which is a great way to track meals. Those who choose not to use MyFitnessPal will be given a “Meal Log” to assist them in proper nutrition for safe and healthy weight loss. You are encouraged to share your progress with your meal log, especially if you find yourself struggling.

 

EXERCISE for 45 minutes is recommended, at least 3 times a week. This will boost your metabolism, improve your results and get you on the path to a healthier lifestyle. The challenge requires you to EXERCISE for a minimum of 20 minutes a day.
