Worry Warriors Program

Ages 14-18 (Thursdays throughout the school year)

Worry Warriors Program is a 5 or 6-week Youth Stress Program for ages 14-18.
Everyone feels stress from time to time. We can’t always control the things that cause stress, but we can control how we cope with stress.

Like adults, youth feel stress too. Youth feel stress for the same reasons as adults—they have a lot to deal with! Day-to-day demands like going to school, making friends, fitting in and getting along with siblings are stressful.

Youth may feel more stress at certain times, such as starting school, moving, experiencing changes in their body, or coping with illness or loss in the family.

Youth may have different ways of showing and dealing with stressors in their lives. For instance, they may complain of stomach aches, have difficulty sleeping, act out, be irritable or angry, or withdraw from others when stressed.

In these sessions, we will teach different tactics they may find helpful include:

Healthy Living: A healthy lifestyle, including healthy eating, physical activity, and good sleep habits, are good for everyone.

  • Healthy Thinking: Healthy thinking means thinking in a balanced way, and it’s very important when we deal with stress. Learn how to change unhelpful thoughts to helpful thoughts.
  • Problem-solving: Working your way through problems is a helpful way to manage stress.
  • Fun, relaxation and time for friends: These are always important to know that they are not alone. We will spend time practicing relaxation exercises like mindfulness, visualization, or deep breathing.

Each session is closed for the 6-weeks to allow the group to feel comfortable with each other. Based on the group, we will choose a theme for the 6-week session. A new session will open up to allow more youth to join.

Mindful Hearts Program

Ages 9-13 (Wednesday’s throughout the school year)

Mindful Hearts Program is a Kids Stress Program [5 or 6-week sessions] for children ages 9-13.

This program uses creative and imaginative body-based techniques as a way to approach relaxation and mindfulness. Mindfulness is believed to be the key to good mental health, self-esteem, emotional intelligence, and emotional resilience.

It is believed that when we give children the tools they need to help them manage stress and anxiety they become more resourceful when facing the challenges of daily life.

Classes help them boost their confidence and self-esteem, develop their imagination, and give them a chance to have fun and make new friends.

Each class is “fun” and “magical” as we explore new relaxation skills through a new “magical adventure” each session as we go through the themed journey together learning these new skills. [Each theme changes every 5 or 6-weeks]

Each session is separate while building and reinforcing the skills learned from the last. Repetition is key to learning to manage stress and anxious feelings.

These are 90-minute classes on Wednesdays at 4:00 pm

About Rollie Allaire…

Rollie Allaire brings years of experience counseling using her client-centered approach. She felt that moving into her own business would allow her to reach people in their own time and space. 

She believes strongly that each person has the ability to heal themselves and that her job is to respectfully bridge the gap between you and the methods that best suit your process. She uses all of her experiences to help you meet your own goals whether through Counseling, Coaching or participating in Workshops.
