Our weekend “Journey” begins at Nature’s Harmony, 574 Snake’s Creek Red, Mattawa, Ontario on Friday at 4:00 pm to begin the peaceful, relaxing, and off-the-grid at the Ma’ayan Cottage with no cell phone or internet access. Reconnect with nature and your true authentic self.

Welcome to your weekend “get-away”. Your “Journey” to self-discovery and self-awareness. We will have a brief tour around the cottage and allow time to unpack and settle to our “home away from home” before we begin.

A light snack will be available as dinner will be around 6:30 pm. This weekend is about connecting to ourselves, in the stillness of nature by “unplugging” for the weekend, while connecting to the four elements (earth, wind, fire, water).

We will begin the first day of our workshop feasting. Feasting is the practice of sitting down and eating together on a ritual basis: and an important class of activity in past and present societies.

Participants will be invited to complete the “Chakra Health Check”, created by Natalie Southgate, which will be explored later in the evening. We will be working, but we will also be enjoying some rest and relaxation.

Everyone will be free to enjoy the elements in the serenity of this atmosphere with a campfire, surrounded by water, sauna, feeling the evening air, on this majestic piece of the earth.

We will begin the workshop with dancing the 7 Chakras. Exploring each of them starting at the Base Chakra and working our way to the Crown Chakra. Checking in where our imbalances may be as we prepare to explored more in-depth over the weekend.

Saturday and Sunday morning will begin with sharing a beautiful balanced breakfast to nourish our bodies for the day of movement and exploration.

Saturday we will explore two Chakras in the morning (Base and Sacral Chakra), followed by lunch and an opportunity to connect with themselves, nature, and each other while allowing plenty of time for self-reflection.

Before the end of the evening, we will explore two more Chakras (Solar Plexus and Heart Chakra) along with the opportunity to feast again on dinner.

Sunday we will explore two more Chakras in the morning (Throat and Third Eye Chakra). In the afternoon we will finish off with exploring the final Chakra (Crown Chakra) and then move into dancing the 7 Chakras in an Integration Dance that will allow us to integrate what we have learned about ourselves. We will bring all that we have discovered about our TRUE AUTHENTIC SELF.

What are Chakras?

Literally translated means wheel or disk. In Chakradance practice, it refers to wheels of energy throughout the body. We each have seven main chakras, which align the spine, starting from the base of the spine through to the crown of the head. Each Chakra is associated with “Keys” and a particular colour for each.

Chakra (1) Base

BASE CHAKRA
Muladhara

Mula meaning “root” and Adhara, which means “support” or “base.”

The base chakra is the first chakra. Its energy is based on the earth element. It’s associated with the feeling of safety and grounding. It’s at the base of the chakra system and lays the foundation for expansion in your life. The base chakra’s colour is red.

Key to our survival, our instincts

Chakra (2) Sacral

SACRAL CHAKRA
Svadhisthana

Translated as “the dwelling place of the self”

The sacral chakra is the second chakra. It is associated with the emotional body, sensuality, and creativity. Its element is water and as such, its energy is characterized by flow and flexibility. the sacral chakra is our pleasure center. The colour for the sacral chakra is orange.

Key to our sexuality, our creative expression, our emotional center

Chakra (3) Solar Plexus

SOLAR PLEXUS CHAKRA
Manipura

Means “lustrous gem”

The solar plexus chakra is characterized by the expression of will, personal power, and mental abilities. The energy of the third chakra is mobilized when we assert ourselves in the world. Discover its key characteristics and how to make the most of this powerful energy center. The element is fire. The colour of the solar plexus is yellow, bright like the sun.

Key to our power, our expression

Chakra (4) Heart

HEART CHAKRA
Anahata

Means “unstruck” or “unhurt”

The heart chakra, colors our life with compassion, love, and beauty. The fourth energy center is said to bridge earthly and spiritual aspirations. It is at the center of the seven chakras with three below and three above. The physical and spiritual meet here. Explore what makes the essence of this chakra and how to unravel its powerful energy to enrich your life. The colour of the heart chakra is emerald green.

Key to our love, our compassion

Chakra (5) Throat

THROAT CHAKRA
Vishuddha

Translates to “especially pure”

The Throat chakra is the fifth chakra. Located at the center of the neck at the level of the throat. The Throat chakra is driven by the principle of expression and communication. The element is ether or space, and the sense is hearing. This is the first of the 3 Spiritual Chakras. The colour of the throat chakra is blue.

Key to our expression, our communication

Chakra Third Eye

THIRD EYE CHAKRA
Ajna

Means “beyond wisdom”

The third eye chakra is the sixth chakra. Located on the forehead, between the eyebrows, it is the center of intuition and foresight. The third eye chakra is based on the principle of openness and imagination. The colour of the third eye is indigo.

Key to our imagination, our intuition

Chakra Third Eye

CROWN CHAKRA
Sahaswara

Means “thousand petaled”

The crown chakra is the seventh chakra and it is at the top of the “chakra ladder” which starts from the root chakra that grounds us on the Earth and progresses upward to the Crown which connects us with the universe and the Divine source of creation. The colour is violet or white.

Key to our spirituality, our connection with the Universe

Why balance our Chakras?

Each of the seven main chakras is connected to our nerves and major organs and connected to our psychological, emotional, and spiritual states of being. It’s essential that our seven major chakras stay open. Energy cannot flow through a blocked chakra. As blood cannot flow through a blocked artery. These chakras are a direct link from one to the other from the base to the crown chakra. Important for us to remain balanced.
